Does Matted crop my photo?

Never. Matted adds padding around your photo to reach the target aspect ratio — it never removes any part of your image. Every pixel of your original is always visible in the export.

Why is my export larger than the original?

When Matted pads your photo to a new aspect ratio, the canvas gets wider or taller, which means more pixels in the final image. The original photo area is never resampled — only new background pixels are added. A larger file is expected and is a sign that nothing was thrown away.

Where do saved photos go?

Exports are saved directly to your iOS Photos library, in the same album as your other photos. Matted requests "Add Photos Only" permission, so it can save without being able to browse your full library.

Do tips unlock features?

No. Tips are entirely optional and do not unlock anything — every feature in Matted is available to every user for free, always. The tip jar exists only as a way to support the developer if you find the app useful.

How do I request a platform preset?

Use the contact form below. Include the platform name and the exact pixel dimensions or aspect ratio you need. Matted already covers 105 presets across 20 platforms, but new ones are added regularly based on requests.
