Privacy Policy
Effective date: 11 June 2026
Short version: Matted collects nothing about you. All photo processing happens entirely on your device. Nothing is ever sent to a server. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking.
What data Matted collects
None. Matted does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, usage data, or analytics. There are no servers that receive your photos or any information about how you use the app.
Photo processing
All image processing — resizing, padding, background generation, color palette extraction, mesh gradients, blur — happens entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. Your photos never leave your device through Matted.
Permissions
The only system permission Matted requests is Add Photos Only (write access to your photo library), used solely to save your exported image. Matted does not request read access to your full photo library. You can choose to share a photo from any source using the standard iOS share sheet.
Settings and preferences
Any settings you choose (default background style, preferred export format, etc.) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data never leaves your device.
In-app purchases (tip jar)
Matted includes an optional tip jar with one-time consumable purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, card numbers, or billing information. Apple's privacy policy governs the purchase transaction — you can read it at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Tips unlock nothing — they are a voluntary way to support development. The app is fully functional without any purchase.
Analytics and tracking
There are none. Matted contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
Children
Because Matted collects no data whatsoever, there is nothing to say about children's privacy specifically — no data is collected from users of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Given that the app collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
